Savings (WCU) = $4546.63 Bremer Bank = $31, 609.10 Football club has decided to donate the balance of $4230.00 left over from last year to the WCU account. Pam Gartner received a field maintenance grant for $1000 for soccer club. Dave Mehls and Ben Wanless are getting estimates to build new goals for soccer fields.
E. Old Business 1. Parkland Update Dave M. is getting fertilizer and seed estimates for the new fields. He will attend a meeting on Thursday with excavators to discuss work for this spring. The grant application for the Andersen Foundation is still being worked on. On May 21, Dave will meet with the National Guard to discuss the possibility of them doing some work on the park. 2. Fundraising Updates Raised $793.58 at the spaghetti dinner. Will maybe do it in the evening next time to get a better turnout. We have the Econofoods brat stand reserved for some Sundays in the summer. We will get those dates out soon and will be looking for volunteers. 3. Sam’s Club/Walmart Charge Cards We are able to get a Sam’s Club credit card that can be used anywhere and we get 2% back. We can also just get more membership cards and continue with that way. Please talk it over with your clubs and get feedback. It was thought that we would maybe wait to get the credit card until we have concession stands and a manager for those so only one person would have that credit card. Please let Dave Mehls know if anyone wants to get more membership cards. 4. NRAYSA Website Lisa Ritter continued our discussion on the new website. She has renewed it for 2 years ($84/yr). We can upload updates on the park progress if we want. There are also current weather reports as well as a 2 day forecast on it. She is currently working on a mapping system that will pinpoint events (like on mapquest). She now needs email addresses to put in and a list of people who we want to have publishing access to the site.
Motion made by Dave Ritter and seconded by Bryan Graff to allow President, VP, Site Coordinator, and one member of each club publishing access to site. Motion passed. F. New Business 1. Sponsors Update Dave M. handed out update to each club. It was thought that next year we could send out sponsor letters earlier and ask for pancake breakfast donation, etc. all at the same time. 2. Background Checks All clubs (except soccer) need to get coach’s names to Dave Mehls so we can do background checks. They are good for 2 years. 3. Insurance Dave will be turning in insurance forms to NR Insurance so our insurance will be renewed on time. 4. Fun Fest Parade Debbie Keller will head up the float for Fun Fest. The parade is on Saturday, July 12th at 5:00 pm. Line up is at 4:00 pm.
G. Sports Clubs Updates 1. Baseball – Ryan Fitzgerald at Gary’s Scrapmetal will take cans from anyone who wants to donate them to NRAYSA. When you drop them off, just tell him they’re for NRAYSA. John Peterson is our contact person on this. 2. Football – Met with new HS coach who seems to be on board with using the same plays, terminology, etc. as the club. 3. Soccer – Numbers are up in soccer. 4. Softball – All tournaments this year. No league.
